Karen came to us with the intention of getting 'good enough' to audition for the corporate band Masterpiece as a backup singer. She had strength in her chest voice, but was unable to tap into her head voice. We worked on the basics of chest/head connection, which got her into the band, and over the years strengthened it enough for her to become a lead singer within Masterpiece. She had gained considerable power and stage experience for the uptempo songs, but struggled with vibrato and ballads. We worked heavily on that the past year and challenged her with a very exposed ballad for the Showcase, which she aced!
