Rocío has been studying Voice and Music for over 35 years, ranging from Piano, Music Theory and Composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Madrid, Spain) to Classical and Contemporary Vocal Technique with several of the world's most respected voice teachers.
She has been a professional singer for over 25 years, with three solo albums to her name and multiple guest appearances on other artists’ records, plus extensive performing experience in a variety of styles, therefore understanding the need of a solid vocal foundation that allows her to switch from one style to the next, and keep up with a demanding performing schedule. Rocío’s work as a voice pedagogy expert has led her to present at the University of Graz/Jazz Academy (Austria), the Theatre Academy of Krakow (Poland), the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (San Francisco, CA), the California State Speech Pathology Conference, and Stanford, among others. She also works with Doctors and Speech-Language-Pathologists at Stanford University's Department of Otolaryngology on the treatment of voice disorders.
Her advanced students have starred in Musical Theatre productions from local high schools to Broadway, been accepted at University of Michigan, UCLA, NYU (Tisch & Steinhardt), Juilliard, Carnegie Mellon, Montclair University, University of Hartford Hartt, Berklee School of Music, found industry success as independent artists or signed on to major labels, and participated in popular TV singing competitions.
She holds a Master of Arts Degree from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, and is fluent in Spanish, German, English, French and Italian. She is represented by Stars, The Agency for her Voice Over and Commercial work. From 2013-2017 she served on the Advisory Board and as the Mentorship Program Director for IVTOM, International Voice Teachers of Mix. She continues to study the latest advancements in vocal science and educate fellow voice teachers worldwide while continuing to work on her own voice with world renowned ENT, Voice Scientist & Voice Teacher Dr. Hubert Noé.
